1. Introduction
Paralegal Outsourcing UK is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. While we currently fall below the turnover threshold that makes a statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 mandatory, we publish this statement voluntarily because we believe transparency on this issue matters, particularly to the regulated legal sector we serve.
2. Our business
We provide outsourced paralegal and legal back-office support to law firms across England & Wales. Our delivery team operates internationally, and we apply the same standards and safeguards to every member of our team regardless of location.
3. Our policies
- We carry out right-to-work and identity checks on every member of our team before they start work.
- We pay fair, market-appropriate wages to all staff, reviewed regularly, regardless of where they are based.
- Every member of our team has a clear, direct route to raise concerns, including anonymously, without fear of reprisal.
- We do not use unpaid or unauthorised labour of any kind.
4. Our supply chains
Our suppliers include software, hosting, recruitment and professional service providers, both in the UK and internationally. We expect every supplier and team member, wherever they are based, to comply with applicable modern slavery and labour legislation, and we carry out reasonable due diligence before entering into new working relationships.
5. Due diligence & risk assessment
Because part of our delivery team operates outside the UK, we treat international labour standards as a specific area of attention rather than a low-risk assumption. We review working arrangements, pay and conditions for every team member directly, regardless of location, and keep this assessment under regular review as our business grows.
6. Training
Our team is made aware of the signs of modern slavery and human trafficking, and knows how to raise a concern if they suspect an issue, either within our own business or our supply chain.
